There’s no denying Brockmeyer has writing chops.

The first story of this collection, “Mine,” is just a wonderfully dark twist on “Where the Wild Things Are,” and it sets the mood perfectly for what’s to come. “Reckoning the Corn” and “Gym Teacher” were also stellar entries, both perfectly written and played out.
