[REVIEW] The City Around the World – by Elliot Harper

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I was recently introduced to Elliot’s writing during the open call stage for my company’s debut anthology. When I saw him later post about the new cover for his novella, I decided to check out the book while I was at it.

Elliot is a great writer, a sorcerer of words. His brand of science fiction is dark and seeping with psychological and philosophical horror, as well as scenes of the grotesque and strange. Sometimes it’s confusing, but the pieces are there for something grand and progressive. I think I read somewhere this is just the first book in a series, so I’ll have to keep my eye out for sequels. Learning more about the Great Wanderer is of particular interest.
